It’s Getting Drafty In Here
I have a confession to make.
Sometimes I run across interesting and/or weirdass websites that would be worthy of a post, but I’m just too tired/lazy/busy/suicidal to bother with writing it up. Soooo… what I do is put the URL into a post and save it as a draft, fully intending to return later and commit my usual literary attrocities upon it.
The problem (and you’re probably already way ahead of me here) is that I very rarely actually come back and write the post. I use WordPress, and the admin page puts drafts up top so that you don’t forget about them. I now have so many drafts up there that I have to scroll down to post.
The Right Thing® would be for me to set aside a few hours to sit down and create a funny, well-crafted micro-essay for every one of the drafts. We all know that just ain’t gonna happen. I’m going to do The Half-Assed Thing® instead, and just fire off a list of links without any explanatory text whatsoever. Think of it as a grab-bag and it may be less annoying. Worth a shot, anyway.
Here are the links:
- Interesting Ideas
- The 1940/1941 Chrysler Thunderbolt, which can also be found as an Ephemera Now image
- The Corning Museum of Glass
- Allied Magic in WWII
- RoboDump 1.0
- Weather Service XML Feeds
- Great Buildings
- Pyramids of China
- The Case of the Pissy Scientist
Have fun. I may come back and write some of these up in more detail, but I probably won’t.
