The Curmudgeon Files
Letters and Essays
by David Bryant
I believe the prime duty of citizenship is to resist the forces of ignorance and repression wherever they appear. It's an old-fashioned idea.
Like the ancient Greeks, I also believe that the most effective weapon against an opponent is laughter.
The following letters and essays are my contribution to the public discourse. As most of them refer to specific then-current events, I have included a commentary to explain the context of the issues. They are listed in chronological order.
